Russia: pulp exports up in Jan-May 2018

In January-May 2018, Russian pulp exports increased year-on-year, indicate the statistics published by the Russian Federal Customs Office.

Thus, during the first five months of the current year Russia exported 875.3 tonnes of pulp. That is 2.5% more than during the respective months of 2017. The total value of the Russian pulp exported in January-May 2018 went up to $620.6 million. Therefore, the increase came up to 52.6%.

Besides, in January-May 2018, Russia exported 452,200 tonnes of newsprint valued at $227.6 million. Thus, Russian newsprint export reduced by 0.4% in volume terms year-on-year. During the same period it grew by 22.6% in value terms.
